Studio Research Practice Two May to September 2020

The images below show work in the studio from May to September 2020. I have compiled this as a chronological visual essay which starts in my home studio, shows my rented studio, the outside studio I built at home and progressed to the postgraduate studio at UH Creative School.

My studio practice and experimentation was limited during Semester C to what I have available already, I had planned to be using the university workshops for as much as the first part of Semester C as possible to get sculptures made. I therefor used what was around me. I used paper and cardboard mainly. I had plans to cast plaster, but this has been scaled back due to PPE being difficult to get. I wanted to use fibre glass to make the larger scale sculptures, but instead I have used black masking tape, black cloth tape, aluminium wire and spray paint. I have really enjoying using simple materials but will really savour getting back to the professional workshops and materialising the projects further.
