I have been shooting short pieces of film over the past few months and have started editing them. I have a page which you can access here which will have them all as I upload them, but I am also going to write about each piece with a short explanation and some indication of where I am with the work in regards my practice.
The films have been made as a response to needing to take time to process thoughts, look in detail at some aspect of my world or just simply take time away from a very busy household with many demands. Making work for me is not a nine-to-five existence, but an ongoing play in my mind between observing, creating, making, thinking and responding. Making films has always been there, but showing them hasn’t. I have a complex relationship with making my work and showing it to others which is precisely why I am doing a masters to try and be more open about showing the work and get feedback.
