Work in progress August 12th

Recent Drawing work

I produced this set of drawings whilst away from the postgraduate studios. I used discarded life drawings, put my system of 7×9 ruled lines over the top and started to erase areas of the drawings and redraw them. I worked on 14 upright pieces then 18 landscape pieces.

I made the pieces below by scoring the card with the drawn system of dissecting the card by 7×9 and drawing diagonals and then folding the card. I had started them off thinking I would cast some plaster into them. I then thought I could also make some printing plates from them. I am in the process of making more to enable production of both plaster and prints.

I am producing an ongoing series of A1 drawings and this is the most recent one. In these drawings I am using my whole reach, and dividing the area by 7 lines down and 9 lines across. I am then free drawing between points and through a process I am then drawing straight ruled lines over the top pulling out shapes I see in the patterns generated. I want to take these into three dimension by laying plastic over them and then using straight bamboo sticks and joining them. I would really like to get this fabricated in steel.
