Beginning studio research in the postgraduate studio

I spent time working in the studio with some found objects. I often use found objects. My rule is that I don’t go looking for objects I use, they have to be in my path line. in this case I found some fabric that had been thrown out by in the BA studio. The light in the studio was strong sun setting light coming through the windows and as I had to take down the piece I was drawing for a new wall to be put up, I started to play with the materials I had. I used the material so make sculptures against the studio wall and making the intervention of the object and the available light. I made photographs of these and printed them out when I got home.

I aim to use these images for possibly looking at projecting onto surfaces, making photograms in the colour photography studio and I have printed some of these out to make contact prints with in forthcoming workshops.

I aim to buy some of the net fabric to see how I can shape it to make some maquette pieces to see if I can get some sturdier net type metal possible to make these crumpled shapes into large scale sculpture. I can imagine photosensitive materials could be used to then have shadows printed onto them.
